The 31-year-old archer is expecting her second child later this year, and is already a mother to her infant son Christian, according to BBC. The outlet reported that Grinham was nearly forced out of the competition because of a health scare last week, which landed her in a Paris hospital for a check-up.
“The idea was to show that nothing is impossible and to go out there and smash it,” Grinham told BBC.

The Spanish Paralympic Committee says it is appealing the decision that led to thedisqualification of Elena Congost during the 2024 Paralympics T12 women’s marathon.
Carol was guiding Congost, who is visually impaired, during the race on Sept. 8 in Paris when his leg cramped at the finish line.
When Congost attempted to help him, they accidentally dropped the rope connecting them, a violation of the Paralympics rules for visually impaired racers.

Mason Branstrator was just 17 when he broke his back while downhill skiing on Jan. 18, 2021.

Missouri officials are mourning the death of a 27-year-old paramedic.
Michael Clarke was working on the advanced life support unit at Station 12 in St. Peters on Monday, Oct. 14, when an emergency call came in shortly before 7 a.m. local time,according to a statement on Facebookfrom the St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCCAD).
“When Clarke did not report from the station to the ambulance to leave for the call, his partner found him unresponsive in one of the station’s bedrooms,” officials said.
