Rettarevealed that she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
The formerParks and Recreationactress, 54, spoke toTodayabout how she didn’t suspect that she would develop the chronic condition, noting that she never even knew she had a family history.
“I never thought of diabetes until the doctor said something,” she said.
Retta told the outlet that her doctor always monitored her A1C, which measures glucose levels, and although they were often elevated, she wasn’t previously in the range for type 2 diabetes.

A new WNBA franchise could be coming soon to Kansas City — thanks toPatrickandBrittany Mahomes!
The Chiefs quarterback and his wife — along with their fellow co-owners of the KC Current, Chris and Angie Long — have met with WNBA officials about the possibility of bringing another women’s pro franchise to the area,according to ESPN.
A new team would join the Mahomes’ ownership portfolio that also includes the Kansas City Royals, Sporting KC and the Alpine Formula One team.
