Shawn Mendesis opening up about feeling “better” as he gets older.
In a new conversation withInterviewmagazine published Monday, Oct. 14, the singer spoke with fellow musicianJohn Mayerabout his hiatus, his upcoming albumShawn, “growing up” and feeling “better” in his own skin.
He explained to Mayer, 46, that he felt he was able to find himself while making the album — which Mendes' mother speculated about, too.
He revealed, “I think within finding yourself, there’s humor.

On Wednesday, Oct. 10, the singer-songwriter, 26, announced that he will be delaying his upcoming self-titled LP to Nov. 15 after it wasoriginally set to arriveon Oct. 18.
“My team and I have decided to push the album release date to November 15,” Mendes wrote in a statement shared to hisInstagram Stories. “We just need a little bit more time to bring some new inspirations and ideas to life.
