Spirit Halloween’s jolly new companion stores are up and running!
SeveralSpirit Christmasstores opened for business this week after the company behind Spirit Halloween first announced in October that some of its pop-up shops would be staying open through December and transforming into holiday superstores.
According to the seasonal company’s website, eight of its 10 previously proposed storefronts have opened thus far selling holiday supplies, decorations, clothing and more goodies.

From there, you can explore what Nikki Balles, Senior Director of PR & Brand Image at Spirit Halloween, refers to as the “cozy section,” filled with Halloween-themed pajamas, fleece slippers, an array of dog costumes and $29.99 spooky tumbler cups — including a highly sought-after bedazzled version that’s almost impossible to find.

Scientists have uncovered a new species of ghost shark living deep in the Pacific Ocean.
TheNational Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research(NIWA) announced in a news release on Tuesday, Sept. 24, that scientists discovered the spiky-nosed spookfish, a member of the ghost shark species, in the ocean waters near Australia and New Zealand.

Two women from Springfield, Ohio, are speaking out about the unverified gossip they helped spread, which fueled a viral conspiracy theory about Haitian immigrants eating people’s pets.
Springfield resident Erika Lee appeared onNBC Newson Friday, Sept. 13, to express regret over the impact of a rumor she posted on Facebook, which she had no idea would become a national news story.
“It just exploded into something I didn’t mean to happen," she told the outlet.

The San Antonio Spurs say that head coachGregg Popovichis out indefinitely as he recovers from a sudden illness.Popovich, 75, reportedly suffered a “health issue” just hours before tipoff in San Antonio’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, Nov. 2, according to ESPN’s NBA insiderShams Charania.While further details about the longtime NBA coach’s condition weren’t made available, Charania said that Popovich will remain sidelined for an “indefinite period” of time.
