A Colorado teen is paying it forward, volunteering at the same hospital where she spent 77 days in the NICU.
In addition to being a 19-year-old Colorado State University student, Maya Armstrong is also a volunteer at UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins,The Coloradoanreported.
Coming back to the hospital that cared for her as a newborn has been “wonderful,” she told NBC affiliateKUSA, adding that “everyone is so welcoming.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Officeshared on social mediathat officers received a call on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at around 9 a.m. from a jogger who “located a body in a farm field” in San Tan Valley and reported it to police.
Investigators said they identified the body as that of 38-year-old Mary Collier, and they said she “appears to be the victim of a homicide,” in their release.

A teenager in British Columbia, Canada, is in critical condition after contracting the first presumptive case of bird flu in the country, health officials say.
British Columbia health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry shared in a news conference, perGlobal News,ReutersandThe Washington Post, that the teenager, who has not been identified, was admitted to the hospital on Friday and developed “acute respiratory distress,” which sent them to critical care.
Acute respiratory distress syndrome is a “life-threatening” condition that happens when fluid begins to leak into the lung, preventing enough oxygen from getting into the body, according to theAmerican Lung Association.

A Virginia teenager became panicked when she began seeing social media posts praying for her boyfriend. Soon after, on Monday, Sept. 3, she received a heartbreaking text message from his father.
“I see a notification from his dad saying, ‘Christian died,’” Lacy Milling said, recalling the gutting moment inan interviewwith local NBC4 this week. “Literally, two words.”
Her boyfriend, 19-year-old Christian Archen Whalen, was shot and killed while trying to break up a fight at a bonfire he attended late Sunday night, the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Officesaidin a statement earlier this week.
