Waffle HouseCEO Walt Ehmer has died. He was 58.
The company announced the news on Sept. 6, saying the business mogul died after a long illness.
The company plans to share more details soon, including “highlights of Walt’s 30+ year career.”
“For now, we know all of you join us in extending our deepest condolences to Walt’s family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.

The storm is projected to cause catastrophic damage as it makes landfall on Florida’s west coast. As a result, the 24-hour breakfast chain, which only closes in extreme situations, is closing 31 locations in the Tampa area. Over two dozen Orlando locations are also closing, along with 15 in Fort Myers and 15 in Daytona and Ocala.
Hurricane Milton, a Category 4 storm, isprojected to hit Wednesday night or early Thursday.

The country’s health minister said 14 people were killed and 450 were injured in the latest explosions,Reutersreported. Meanwhile, the death toll from the initial pager blasts rose to 12, including two children, with about 3,000 injured.
Lebanon’s Red Crosssaid in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter)after the second attack that they were responding with “30 ambulance teams to multiple explosions in different areas including the South of Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.

“Walking pneumonia is a layman’s term for a type of pneumonia that, in medical terms, we call atypical pneumonia. That just means that they [the patients] don’t follow the sort of normal course of fever, cough and acute worsening,” Dr. Matthew Isaac Harris, a pediatric emergency medicine physician and the medical director for Critical Care Transport at the New York-based Northwell Health, tells PEOPLE.
