A California man has been reunited with his family more than seven decades after he was abducted as a child.
“It was the best possible outcome the Oakland Police Department (OPD) could hope for, as this is what our officers are dedicated to and strive for in every Missing Persons case,” the authorities told PEOPLE in a statement.
“On March 18, 2024, a woman contacted OPD’s Missing Persons Unit regarding the possible location and identity of her uncle, Luis Albino, who had been missing for more than 70 years.

A Connecticut man is accused of a brutal attack on his two young stepsons and his wife that has reportedly left her 6-year-old child brain dead.
Abdulrahim Sulaiman, 38, of Bridgeport, faces a host of charges including three counts of attempted murder in connection with the case, online court records allege.
Jathan Escobar, 6, is on life support and has been declared brain dead as a result of the attack, his family toldlocal outlet WFSB.

Williams had been living in Michalski’s home with one of his relatives, per investigators.

Before deputies arrived that Saturday evening, Michalski allegedly “left the house” with his dog, according to the sheriff’s office.

At least 65 people were treated for injuries after a ferris wheel caught fire at a music festival in Germany.
The incident occurred after one gondola burst into flames at theHighfield Festivalin Leipzig on Saturday, Aug. 17 at around 9 p.m. local time, the Leipzig Police Department confirmed in astatementon Aug. 18.
The incident left 65 attendees in need of medical treatment as a result of the fire, and 16 people were then transported to the hospital for additional treatment, according to the police.
