A former CIA officer who previouslypleaded guilty to sexually abusing and drugging more than two dozen womenin multiple countries, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Brian Jeffrey Raymond, 48, was sentenced in the U.S. District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 18, according to apress releasefrom the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
He has also been ordered to pay $260,000 restitution to the victims and serve a lifetime of supervised release, while he will also be required to register as a sex offender after his release from prison.

A former Washington, D.C. government worker has been found guilty of manslaughter in theshooting death of an unarmed teenage boyhe had accused of breaking into cars in his neighborhood, authorities said.
According to theAssociated Press,The Washington Postand aDC News Now, Lewis was a longtime D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation employee and was placed on administrative leave on Jan. 31, 2023, after surrendering to police in connection with the case.

An 85-year-old former doctor from Arizona has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for his role in a New York woman’s suicide.
Stephen P. Miller was sentenced to five years of probation — which he will serve in Tuscon, Ariz. — as part of the plea agreement entered in Ulster County Court in N.Y. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, according to theAssociated Press,The New York TimesandTimes Union.

A California jury convicted a former jazz musician of murdering his scientist girlfriend who had vanished last December before being found the following month.
Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann, 61, disappeared on Dec. 4, 2023, from her Capitola, Calif., home, perEl Cerrito police.
Her boyfriend, musician Theobald (Theo) Brooks Lengyel, wasarrested in January 2024after Herrmann’s remains were found that month, perCapitola police.
