In February 2022, an MCSO detective sent in a bone sample they obtained from the Medical Examiner’s Office to a lab in Arizona, requesting a DNA profile. At the same time, another sample was given to the University of North Texas. However, those attempts were also unsuccessful.

Arizona authorities announced that human remains found last week were identified as belonging to a teen who was reported missing five months ago.
Bradley Klose, 16, was last seen on April 8 leaving his workplace near Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road in Peoria, according to anArizona Department of Public Safetyalert.
Bradley was considered “an endangered juvenile due to him being on the autism spectrum.

People gathering wild rice from a lake in Minnesota discovered human skeletal remains that are believed to hundreds of years old.
After arriving at the scene, deputies discovered skeletal remains of at least three people “believed to be several hundred years old,” the release notes.
Before securing the remains, authorities contacted the Leech Lake Heritage Sites program, as well as theMinnesota Indian Affairs Council. The discovery remains under investigation and, while their exact location has not been disclosed, authorities confirmed the human remains were “located within a known cultural site.

Several Florida colleges and universities have closed schools and issued shelter-in-place orders on campus ahead ofHurricane Helene, according toNBC News,CNN,NBC 8and theTallahassee Democrat.
On Thursday, Sept. 26, the storm strengthened to category 4, with “catastrophic storm surge and life-threatening winds” hitting 130 mph, according to theNational Hurricane Center.

The annual Florida Python Challenge is here as the state continues its efforts to curb the population of invasive Burmese pythons.
Hundreds of snake hunters are currently registered for this year’s 10-day hunt, which began Friday, Aug. 9, according to a news release from theFlorida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Each contestant has a chance to win up to $10,000 for removing the most pythons throughout the multi-day competition, which ends on Sunday, Aug.
