“The semi-truck was in the left lane of travel and struck numerous vehicles. The impact of the crash caused the semi-truck and numerous vehicles to catch fire,” police confirmed.

In a further updateshared on Xon Sunday, Nov. 3, police said 17 “drivers and occupants of vehicles involved in the crash were taken to Sparrow and McLaren Hospital in Lansing.”

Police confirmed a 29-year-old male from Carson City, who was driving a Ford F-150 pickup, had been killed in the crash. A 20-year-old female, a 43-year-old female and a 47-year-old male, all from Lansing, also died.

“The victims were in a Chevy Trax and were related,” police stated.

The driver of the truck “was taken to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for treatment of his injuries,” the MSP update said, confirming the driver’s age and hometown were “unknown at this time.”
