A Florida woman is missing after jumping from a private ambulance outside a medical center in New York City, police have said.

The address matches that of the Weill Cornell Medical Center, but it has not been confirmed why she was there.

A police source confirmed to PEOPLE that she escaped from the back of a private ambulance and that she was in the city visiting her sister at the time.

Police added in the release that the missing woman was last seen wearing blue scrubs and gray sweatpants.

“The individual is described as a female Hispanic, with a light complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing 150 pounds,” the NYPD said.

Police are asking the public for information surrounding the missing woman.

“The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the following missing person who went missing in the confines of the 19th Precinct,” the NYPD said in the release.

Police added, “Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782),” stating that the public could also submit their tips via the NYPD Crimestoppers website or on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“All calls are strictly confidential,” the release concluded.
