50 Centhas dropped hisdefamation suitagainst ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy, months after shepublicly accused him of rape and physical abusein an Instagram post.

An attorney for 50 Cent (né Curtis Jackson) did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The “In da Club” rapper, 49, filed suit against Joy (née Daphne Narvaez), claiming that her “false accusations” had subjected him to “extensive public ridicule, hatred and contempt,” and also alleged her post — which has since been deleted — was a “purposeful attempt” to sully his reputation and keep him from seeing their12-year-old son Sire.

His suit came after Narvaez posted on Instagram in March that Jackson had only seen Sire 10 times in two years after they moved to New York to be closer to the rapper.

“I am tired of upholding and protecting an image to our son that you have never even earned. Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me,” she wrote at the time.

Jackson’s filing also claimed that Narvaez shared her post the same day reports emerged that he was seeking custody of their son following a March lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs that labeled Narvaez a “sex worker.” Narvaez laterrefuted those claimsin an Instagram post, calling them “100% false and character assassination.”
