A ‘Dubai Chocolate Bar’ Is Going Viral on TikTok — How the Green Filling Is Made and Where to Find It in the U.S.

A sweet treat dubbed the “Dubai Chocolate Bar” is taking over FoodTok.

For months, TikTok has been flooded with videos of an extra-large, extra-crunchy chocolate bar. The thick treat comes fromFix Dessert Chocolatierin Dubai and is notably colorful, both inside and outside.

The outside of the bar is hand-painted with edible splatter marks – but it’s the inside that has viewers drooling. The filling is packed with pistachios and knafeh, a Middle Eastern dessert made with sweet and buttery phyllo pastry strands. The shop’s original dessert, called the “Can’t Get Khafeh of It,” has only been available for people in Dubai — the shop does not ship the bars outside of the city.

Of the TikTok craze, founder of Fix Dessert Chocolatier, Sarah Hamouda, tells PEOPLE it’s been “surreal.”

“The crunch from the pistachio one. 😍omg,” one commenter wrote. “Not me thinking it was guacamole😭😭” another person commented.

It’s the viral response from TikToks like this one that have left Hamouda in awe.

“When I first started FIX Dessert Chocolatier, I never imagined our chocolate bars would become so popular. It’s been overwhelming in the best possible way,” she adds. “Seeing how much people love them makes me so proud, and I feel so lucky to be part of this journey.”

Chefs have tried their hand at recreating the bar like Feel Good Foodie’sYumna Jawad, who detailed the steps to creating a convincing copy.

In Jawad’s DIY-version, she breaks apart phyllo pastry strands and browns them in a pan with butter. Once crispy and golden, she stirs in pistachio cream with chunks of the nuts. She then melts chocolate and fills a mold with a thick layer of the nutty knafeh sandwiched with chocolate.

Copycat versions sold on Amazon and Etsy have mixed reviews and a range of prices from $18 to $54. Each recipe takes about 10 minutes to make and uses kitchen staples like peanut butter, soy sauce or cream cheese.

His 4.3 million followers have taken to his veggie-focused recipes with many recreating his ideas.

Moffit told PEOPLE that he finds inspiration for new recipes from other food videos on TikTok. So far, everything has been delicious and “everything can go on cucumber.”
