A 26-year-old actor known for his work in the Mexican entertainment industry has died after he was reported missing on Sept. 3.
The family of James Hollcroft confirmed his death to PEOPLE on Thursday, Sept. 12. His mother described her son as a “talented young man” who “achieved a lot in a short time.”
Further details about his death were not immediately available.
Hollcroft appeared in Mexican shows such as the dramaComo dice el dicho, perThe New York Post.
In anInstagrampost shared on Saturday, Sept. 7, Jane Hollcroft, James’ sister, wrote: “I will love you forever, thank you for the years we shared together and for giving me the most magnificent moments I could live. You will always be present in our hearts little brother.”

James Hollcroft’s brother-in-law, Arturo Avila Meija, also paid tribute to the actor in a SaturdayInstagrampost, writing: “I wish everything is just one more dream.”
“Thank you for being the brother you were, the uncle you were with your nephews, the great son you were, really this breaks my soul, today here we lower the curtain but you are in heaven doing that big stage you talked about so much,” Mejia continued.
“Thank you for everything you taught me, for always listening to have that sympathy that you always caressed you had an essence and unique that always, every year I waited eagerly for you to arrive home and adventure those crazy talks that lasted hours that seemed and passed time so in a hurry,” he added.
Hollcroft reportedly worked and trained atCEA Televisa,a media organization based in Mexico City whose studios are not far from his home. In a statement shared on itsFacebookaccount, the company honored the late actor: “Thank you for all those good times we spent together during your acting training.”

PEOPLE contacted Mexico City police, CEA Televisa and Meija on Thursday for additional information, but they did not immediately respond.
