Adoptive Parents Arrested on Suspicion of Murder and Torture of 10-Year-Old Boy

A man and woman are facing legal troubles following the death of their 10-year-old adopted son, authorities said.

Alejandra Marin, 51, and Juan Sanchez Moreno, 59, were arrested and charged with murder, torture and child abuse after the young boy died at a local hospital on Thursday, Nov. 21, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said in anews release.

“Through the joint investigation between the Central Homicide Unit and Special Victims Unit, the juvenile’s adopted parents, Alejandra Marin and Juan Sanchez Moreno, both residents of Moreno Valley, were arrested for murder, torture, and child abuse,” authorities said.

Moreno’s booking and court details, meanwhile, have not been made available. The investigation remains ongoing.
