Rebel Wilson is a mom!

“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle!” the actress, who ismarried to fashion and jewelry designer Ramona Agruma, wrote on Instagram.

The happy news came after Wilson opened up to PEOPLE in May 2022 abouther journey to motherhood, which began when she visited a fertility doctor in 2019.

“He looked me up and down and said, ‘You’d do much better if you were healthier,’ " she told PEOPLE. “I was taken aback. I thought, ‘Oh God, this guy’s so rude.’ He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It’s almost like I didn’t think of my own needs. I thought of a future child’s needs; that really inspired me to get healthier.”

​​The actress, who also has polycystic ovary syndrome (which can also affect fertility), embarked on a “year of health” in 2020 and eventually lost more than 80 lbs.

In August 2023, Wilson told PEOPLE that the best part of her day is coming home to her daughter. “I throw Royce up in the air until she giggles, I tickle her and I help put her to bed.She just melts my heart,” she said.

In her Instagram post, she also teased her sweet nickname for her newborn, writing, “I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club. 💗💗💗.”

She was born via surrogate

In her birth announcement, Wilson also revealed thatRoyce was born via surrogate. Though she didn’t share additional details, she did give the surrogate a heartfelt shout-out, writing, “Thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!”

Her birth was “years in the making”

In her Instagram post from November 2022, Wilson added that Royce’s birth “has been years in the making” as she thanked her loved ones for their support.

That same month, Wilson spoke to PEOPLE about herfertility strugglesduring production ofThe Almond and the Seahorse, in which she plays a woman who wants to become a mother. “During the filming I received some terrible news that all my harvested eggs up until that point had not survived being thawed,” the actress shared.

“So I’d lost a huge amount of weight and been through 3 surgeries at that point and no viable embryos,” she continued. “It was devastating.”

Even so, she explained, “I knew that my desire to become a mother was so strong, that I needed to keep trying.”

Agruma is helping Wilson raise Royce

In November 2022, Agruma opened up about motherhood during aninterview onThe Morning Show.

“You start thinking about someone else instead of yourself, priorities change,” she told the hosts. “It’s been amazing, it’s truly life-changing, but in a good way.”

A year later, it seemed that Agruma may have helped Roycecreate a special giftfor Wilson in honor of Mother’s Day 2024. She shared a photo on her Instagram Stories that showed a picture of her daughter in a frame that Royce seemed to have painted and decorated with glitter and butterfly stickers.
