Amazing RacealumShana Wallsays she was seriously injured after she accidentally swallowed shards of plastic, which she claims were in a drink she was served during a flight.
The New York resident was on a May 1 American Airlines flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Rome when, according to the complaint, she claims she “was served a drink in a glass containing broken plastic and shards causing Plaintiff to ingest same resulting in serve [sic] injury to her throat, esophagus, vocal chords and digestive system.”

Wall, who is asommelierand writes recipes as a contributor toBest Life, claims she was unable to work, due to “serious and permanent personal injuries.”
According to the complaint, “she was caused to be sick, sore, lame and disabled; was confined to home and bed; was caused to sustain a loss of enjoyment of life; she became incapacitated from the duties of her occupation, sustaining wage and economic loss.” She also shared photos from her trip to Italian wineries on herInstagramfollowing the May 1 flight.

“[American Airlines] had a duty to provide beverages and food that was uncontaminated and fit for consumption,” the complaint says, and claims the airline “had actual and/or constructive notice of the dangerous and unsafe conditions."
Wall,who datedRyan Seacrestand accompanied him to the 2005 Primetime Emmy Awards, is seeking unspecified damages from the airline.

Wall is one of several people who have recently had issues with airline food and beverage service: In July, aDelta Airlinesplane flying from Amsterdam to Detroit was diverted to New York’s JFK Airport after passengers were served spoiled food.

And last year, staff on aBritish Airwaysflight failed to refrigerate their meals, causing the food to spoil. As a result, passengers were served food from a local KFC, which the flight crew bought before boarding.
