Ashlee Simpson's 3 Kids: All About Bronx, Jagger and Ziggy

Ashlee Simpsonis best known for her early 2000s music career, but these days, she’s a busy mom of three kids: Bronx, Jagger and Ziggy.

In 2008, the same year that she released “Little Miss Obsessive,” Ashlee welcomed a son, Bronx Mowgli, with her ex-husbandPete Wentz. Years later, after retiring from the music industry and marryingEvan Rossin 2014, the pair welcomed two children — Jagger Snow was born in 2015, and Ziggy Blu followed in 2020.

During an appearance onWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohenin September 2018, Ashlee and Evan opened up about their blended family and amicable co-parenting relationship with Wentz.

“I grew up with a big family,” Evan said. “I think it’s a beautiful thing … My relationship with Pete has been amazing.He’s an amazing father. He knows I love his son very much, but it’s his son.”

As for the couple’s parenting style, the singer toldPEOPLE Nowin 2020 that she aims to be open with her children, letting them “try out everything” and not push them in any particular direction.

“I mean I think the most important thing isletting them be themselvesand finding what their passion is,” Ashlee said. Her husband agreed, sharing that growing up, he had “a lot of creatives” in his life, which gave him the mindset that “you can do anything you want.”

The family enjoyed a rare outing that included all three kids in June 2024, when they attended thepremiere ofInside Out 2at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles.

Bronx Mowgli Wentz, 16

Ashlee and her ex-husband Wentz welcomed their son Bronx on Nov. 20, 2008.

The former couple tied the knot in anAlice in Wonderland-themed wedding in May 2008 but separated just two and a half years later in February 2011 — Bronx was 2 years old at the time.

Ashlee’s rep told PEOPLE that she and Wentz were focused on being “deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority.”

When Ashlee married Evan in 2014, the actor said their transition into a blended family came easily. During an appearance onTheWendy Williams Showin February 2015, the90210star detailed his close relationship with Bronx.

“He’s my friend, we became like homies, we’re good buddies,” he said. “It’s amazing. I can’t even tell you how incredible that child is — he’s unbelievable! He’s been a blessing in my life, and I’ve learned so much from him.”

Coming from a family of multiple musicians, it seems inevitable that Bronx would take an interest in music. When he was 6 years old, Ashlee told PEOPLE, “He’s so into music. He loves to dance around and he writes little songs. They’re good! It’s so cute.”

As for being a big brother, Ashlee’s eldest proudly takes on the role.

“Bronx is so sweet with her. Jagger is like literally going into his room as he’s like talking on the phone with his friends and he’s so kind and loving with her,” the former pop star told PEOPLE Now.

In November 2023, Ashlee shared a birthday tribute to her elder son. “Happy birthday BRONX,” the proud mom wrote on her Instagram Story. “Thank you for making me a mom! I can’t believe your [sic] 15.”

Despite this being her second pregnancy, the “Outta My Head” artist told PEOPLE that it felt like a whole new experience.

“I think that no matter what, with every child it’s different,” she said a few months before Jagger’s birth. “It feels new to me too, and it’s been six years, so I’m like, ‘Here we go! We gotta learn how to get the swaddle on again!’ "

A few years later, Ashlee and Evan shared the funny events surrounding their first child’s birth. His mother is music legendDiana Ross, and on the day of Jagger’s birth, she walked straight into the delivery room.

By the time she was 6 years old, Jagger already had big aspirations of following in her parents' creative footsteps.

In August 2021, Ashlee posted a photo of Jagger getting ready to head off for her first day of kindergarten. In the sweet photo, she held a chalkboard that featured some of her career goals, including becoming an “artist, movie starand [to] walk on a runway.”

Just a year later, Jagger was well on her way to fulfilling those dreams. In August 2022, Ashlee posted a photoon Instagramof her daughter’s modeling debut in a campaign for the fashion label Fear of God. The following year,she posed with both her parentsfor a romper collection her mom helped design.

According to Ashlee, Jagger has always been outspoken when it comes to fashion. The “La La” vocalist told PEOPLE in 2018 that she “loves” dressing Jagger but has heard feedback about her choices. “If she doesn’t like something, she’ll check it out in the mirror and tell me,” Ashlee said.

Her modeling debut came a few months after Evan revealed on hisInstagramthat Jagger had also ventured into music. Her voice can be heard at the beginning of “Turn Up the Sunshine,” a song his mother Diana and Tame Impala created for theMinions: The Rise of Grusoundtrack.

As for Jagger’s other creative endeavors, he told PEOPLE Now in 2020 that his daughter is an “amazing artist.” He shared an anecdote about the time she drew “all over” a painting that had taken him “so long” to complete.

“She made it more special,” theWicked Citystar added. “I’m so happy she’s creative. I think that that’s the most important thing, and she’s so good at art, she really is, she’s so talented.”

Ziggy Blu Ross, 4

Ashlee and Evan celebrated the arrival of their second child together, Ziggy, on Oct. 29, 2020.

The pair announced the birth of their son onInstagram, sharing a photo of the newborn swaddled in a blanket with their hands placed gently on top of him.

“10-29-2020 Ziggy Blu Ross.Our sweet boy has arrived! I’m over the MOON we are so Blessed!” Ashlee wrote in her caption whileEvan wrote, “I’m in heaven.”

The couple’s son also happens to share a birthday with his aunt,Tracee Ellis Ross. She posted a since-deleted photo of the newborn with the caption, “ZIGGY BLU and AUNTIE TRACEE ~ birthday twins. This little magic bundle arrived on my birthday. The gift of life! Welcome to the world and to the family my little nephew. I’m already in love.”

While awaiting the arrival of their son, Evan told PEOPLE Now, “I’m so excited for this little one on the way.”

Ashlee added, “It’ll be really nice to go back to the newborn phase. Newborn babies smell so good. There’s nothing like it. And we can’t wait for the snuggles!”

When he was only a few weeks away from his first birthday, Ashlee shared how Ziggy’s two siblings enjoyed being a family of five.

“He’s gota real sweet personalityso he’s a real hit,” the mom of three told PEOPLE in October 2021. “Jagger loves to entertain him. She likes to sing and dance for him.”

In June 2022, the couple took Ziggy to see his grandmother perform for the first time. Ashlee, Evan and their three children attended Diana’s show at The O2 Arena in London.

“Ziggy’s first showseeing his Ami,” the singer wrote over a photo of Evan holding the toddler on her Instagram Story. She also shared a video of her two younger children dancing to “You Can’t Hurry Love.”

Evan celebrated his son’s third birthday in October 2023 with a sweetInstagramtribute. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KING ZIGGY. I love you more then [sic] is even possible !!! U ARE 3 Years OLD,” he wrote in the caption.
