Barbie Honors Acting Legend Rita Moreno with Doll Ahead of Her 93rd Birthday: 'Embrace Your Limitless Possibilities'

Rita Morenois one of only 21 performers to reach EGOT status. And now she’s arrived at another —miniature— milestone!

Just in time for the acting legend’s 93rd birthday in December, Moreno will be receiving her very own Barbie tribute doll, which will be available for purchase on theMattel shopbeginning on Wednesday, Nov. 20, the company has announced.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Barbie to bring this doll to life, and I hope it serves as a reminder to embrace your limitless possibilities and pursue your passions because when you embrace them, you’re bound to go far,” she added.

Moreno’s doll, part of the Barbie Tribute Collection, was crafted with the help of the superstar actress herself, as she worked with the company on everything from the doll being initially designed in her likeness to the final touches of its outfit.

Krista Berger, senior vice president of Barbie and global head of dolls, Mattel, said in a statement that its an “honor” to have Moreno be part of the Tribute Collection — which also features the likes ofLaverne Cox,Lucille Balland more.

“As one of the few performers to achieve EGOT-status stardom, she has shattered stereotypes and barriers for Latinas in the entertainment industry and beyond,” Berger said. “Her fierce advocacy for the Latino community and her tireless commitment to pursuing her passions in the performing arts perfectly encapsulates Barbie’s mission to inspire the next generation to lean into what lights their spark, chart their own paths, and believe in their limitless possibilities.”

The mini Moreno comes over a year after the company debutedStevie Nicks' very own doll, whichshe told PEOPLEshe “just so fell in love with” at first sight.

“Just the detail that Mattel puts into these dolls — I don’t even want to say the word ‘doll’ — into these little people is just so specific and really beautiful,” she said last fall. “I have yet to meet whoever it was that actually designed her, and I can’t wait to really meet that person so that I can just totally goob out about all these little details that I find so beautiful about her.”

Moreno’s doll will be available to purchase on theMattel shopfor $40, beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
