Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Step Out Together with Kids for First Time Since Divorce News

Ben AffleckandJennifer Lopezstepped out together with their kids amid their divorce.

On Saturday, Sept. 14, the former couple were photographed together at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, marking the first time they have reunited publicly alongside their kids sinceLopez filed for divorcefrom the actor on Aug. 20.

The pair were also photographed together inside a black SUV, with Affleck behind the wheel and theAtlasactress in the passenger’s seat.

Lopez and Affleck’s joint outing comes nearly a month after the “Can’t Get Enough” singerfiled for divorcefrom Affleck after more than two years of marriage. In her filing, she listed April 26, 2024, as the date of their separation.

“She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken,” a source told PEOPLE of Lopez at the time of the filing. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

Last week, Lopez attended the premiere of her and Affleck’s new movie,Unstoppable, at theToronto International Film Festival. She wore adazzling silver floor-length Tamara Ralph dressfor the event, and wasspotted chattingwith Affleck’s longtime friend and production partnerMatt Damonfor more than 20 minutes at the premiere’s afterparty.

“Jen and Matt began talking and had a long, deep conversation,” an insider told PEOPLE, adding that the two laughed and spoke more seriously. They also held hands as they chatted for several minutes.

Lopez stars in the sports biopic about wrestler Anthony Robles, and Affleck and Damon, 53, produced the film under their production companyArtists Equity.

Affleckdid not attendthe movie premiere and was instead photographed stepping out with two of his kids —Samuel, 12, and Seraphina, 15— in Los Angeles that same day. He shares the kids, along with 18-year-old daughterViolet, with his ex-wifeJennifer Garner.

“The film festival truly uplifted her,” the source explained. “She was excited to focus on work again."

A separate source told PEOPLE that Lopez “seems much happier than a few weeks ago,” adding that she “continues to look for a new home for her and the kids” and is “taking her time."
