Davina Corbin, 56, was found dead on Blackhawk Trail in Feather Falls, Calif., around 1:58 a.m. according to theButte County Sheriff’s Office. It is believed she was walking in the area when she was attacked, authorities say.
During her autopsy, “numerous bite marks and injuries” were found on Corbin’s body, leading the forensic pathologist to believe that her cause of death involved a dog attack.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for a home on Blackhawk Trail, and found 25 Great Dane dogs who were “running loose in the area.” The deputies and detectives “spent the entire day capturing the dogs”.
As of Aug. 10, 23 of the dogs had been captured and placed under the custody of animal control. Upon further investigation, the DNA found on Corbin’s clothing was consistent with domestic dog DNA.
