Camila Cabello Debuts New Single 'Godspeed' Live at the 2024 MTV VMAs

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the “He Knows” singer, 27, debuted her latest single “Godspeed” at the awards show, airing live from New York’s UBS Arena.

The performance opened with a clip of a blonde Cabello performing “June Gloom” from herC,XOXOalbum — before revealing the video was playing on a laptop, as she emerged in a white dress with long brunette locks and bangs.

Cabello stood alone in a clear booth with a camera as she sang the ballad, while several balaclava-clad women surrounded her holding bats and crow bars, seemingly ready to smash the walls. At the end, she smashed the laptop on the ground, left the booth and joined the dancers to finish the song.

In addition to Cabello, performers at this year’s VMAs includeChappell Roan,Katy Perry,Anitta,Karol G,Shawn Mendes,Eminem,Sabrina Carpenter,GloRilla,Rauw Alejandro,Halsey,Lenny Kravitz,Lisa,Megan Thee StallionandBenson Boone.

While all of the initial list of performers are making their main stage debuts at the awards show, Cabello is returning to the VMAs for a third time after releasingC,XOXOin June. She received two nominations: best pop and best trending video for “I Luv It” with Playboi Carti.

On Friday, Sept. 6, the four-time Grammy nominee released theMagic City Editionof her latest LP, featuring four new songs including “Godspeed.”

“i wish you well, but far away from me,” Cabellocaptioned a video on social mediafeaturing the song.

In asecond postabout the record’s deluxe edition, she wrote: “Always more stories to tell. Some new songs for your night in Magic City."
