Chad Michael Murray's 3 Kids: All About His Son and Daughters

Chad Michael Murraymay be most famous for being an early 2000s heartthrob, having made a name for himself in teen rom-coms likeA Cinderella StoryandFreaky Friday, as well as shows likeGilmore GirlsandOne Tree Hill, but these days the actor is happiest in the role of dad.

In January 2015, Murray announced his marriage to fellow actorSarah Roemer. Additionally, the pair confirmed that they were expecting their first child together, a son who was born later that year. Since then, they’ve added two more kids to their family, a daughter born in 2017 and a second daughter welcomed in 2023.

Before the birth of his eldest daughter, Murray toldEntertainment Tonightthat having a family “just changes your perspective on everything.”

He explained: “It was the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. I mean, having kids is just, it’s a game changer. I think you’re always walking around with the mentality that you want to make sure that they’re proud and represent them well. Just be a great leader.”

While Roemer has seemingly pressed pause on her acting career, Murray is still booking jobs — but that doesn’t mean he leaves “The Pack” at home. The actor toldVarietyin November 2024 that his wife and kids travel with him to every gig.

“I want to be there,” Murray explained, referring to being present in his kids' lives.

For the actor’s 2023 showSullivan’s Crossing, the family moved to Nova Scotia, Canada. Reflecting on their big move and how they settled in, Murray shared withEtalkthat he had been coaching his son’s sports team.

“I was coaching little league football with my son and all the kids coming and we just had a camaraderie," he said. Murray alsoshared footage of his son, who was born in 2015, playing on social media.

Murray loves spending time with his daughters

Murray and Roemer’s first daughter was born in 2017 and their second followed in 2023. The couple share photos of their kids with their faces obscured on social media, maintaining their daughters' privacy while showing the family’stight bond.

Murray and Roemer have also shared about their younger daughter, including a sweet personal quirk: she has aheart-shaped birthmarkon her ankle.

Since the family travels for Murray’s work, school is something the young family has to take on the road, too. On Mother’s Day in 2023, Murraythanked his wife– who he called his “forever dream woman” — on Instagram for her support of the family.

“We travel the world together and It wouldn’t be possible without you. Homeschooling, pop quizzes, meals and every other mama task you can imagine," he wrote.

Murray also included that Mother’s Day became a new holiday for him upon having his own children: “I never celebrated Mother’s Day growing up because I didn’t have a Mother- but watching the selflessness and sacrifices you make, without ever flinching, blow me away and truly show me why Mothers are like no other.”

They have a “musical” household

Murray’s family likes to get creative with music. During the holiday season in 2023, Roemer shared how their kids like to create songs around the house.

“Woke up to this little forest princess singing with the Christmas tree and snuck a video,” she wrote onInstagram. “We make up songs everyday. Our house turns into a musical when people aren’t around:)”

In a 2023 interview withParade Magazine, Murray compared himself with Clark Griswold, the famous character fromNational Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

“I absolutely love it,” the actor explained of the holidays. “The kids go out with me, we listen to Christmas music, get the house ready. And we do this over the course of the holiday season. It’s almost like it’s always a work in progress and never a finished product.”

By the end of the season, Murray says it’s almost “too much,” but it’s clear the family loves getting into the spirit together.
