Chris Evans Reveals How His Christmas Plans Have Changed as a Newlywed: 'We're Excited' (Exclusive)

Chris Evans’ Christmas plans will start looking a little different since getting married last year.

The actor, 43, tells PEOPLE while promoting his new action filmRed Onein Berlin that holiday plans with his wifeAlba Baptistaare changing as they divide their time between Massachusetts and her home country of Portugal.

“Well, so far we’ve only had one Christmas,” says Evans. “This will be our second Christmas together as a married couple, so we’re going to have to do the pinball.”

“As much as I love Christmas in Massachusetts with snow, she has her own traditions in Portugal. We’re going to start doing the pinballing back and forth,” he explains, adding that he’s “excited to see what they have in store.”

But this Christmas, Evans notes he and Alba, 27, will spend it back in his home state of Massachusetts.

“We have a very busy schedule going on. She’s about to start something in January. I’m doing something right now in Greece,” he says. “So just the amount of travel that we have, we’re doing one more here in Massachusetts and then we’ll start over there [in Portugal].”

TheRed Onestar says he and his wife plan to head to Portugal for the holidays next year. “We just got a place out there, so we’re excited to kind of set up some new fresh tracks in the snow,” says Evans.

And one day, the star adds, he looks forward to sharing some of his favorite childhood holiday traditions with their future kids.

“I hope that my kids will enjoy each other’s company as much as me and my siblings did,” says Evans. “We wanted to spend every second of Christmas Eve together right up until you fall asleep."

A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the Marvel alum and the Portuguese actress were dating in November 2022. In March of this year, the couplemade their red carpet debutat the 2024Vanity FairOscars afterparty.
