Gene Simmonsis joiningDancing with the Starsfor a theme night that hits close to home!
The rock legend is slated to be the guestjudgealongsideCarrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli andDerek Houghon “Hair Metal” night of the dance competition show, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm. The Oct. 8 episode will see the 11 pairs return to the dance floor with routines to iconic rock ‘n’ roll anthems.
Ahead of the exciting episode, judge and former pro Hough will coach the dancers on the ins and outs of lifts and tricks required in the genres of dances for the night.

Because of the vice presidential debate,DWTSwill also air an episode they taped this week on Monday, Oct. 7. Live viewer votes from the week’s two nights of competition will be combined with the judges’ scores from both nights to determine who may be in jeopardy of elimination.
