Daniella Ramirez is revealing the secret of howsynchronized swimmer’s keep their hair so perfect.

On Monday, Aug. 5, Ramirez, 22, showed fans how she removes a special Knox gelatin she puts on her head before her routines to ensure her hair stays slick in the pool.

“The Olympic Peelies are…” Ramirez, who had her hair in a bun, wrote over anInstagramclip, adding a fire and a sad face emoji.

The clip, set to Estelle feat.Kanye West’s “American Boy,” showed Ramirez pulling at the gel around her ears while making faces in front of the camera. She then pumped her fist in the air after seemingly getting some of it off her head.

This isn’t the first time Ramirez has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at how she perfects her artistic swimmer look.

Back in February, Ramirez shared aTikTokclip showing her putting the gelatin onto her hair, telling fans “this is what we use in our hair for performances.”

“It’s to keep the hair in place while we swim and it’s purely for aesthetic reasons,” she wrote over the clip.

“It’s sticky and dries hard,” Ramirez added.

“We could use swim caps, and we do at practice, but it looks better to swim this way to fit a theme,” the athlete continued, admitting the process is “uncomfy” and that they have to do a “thick layer” because it tends to “dissolve” in the water.

“The goal is to have the hair slick for the entire routine,” Ramirez added.
