Diddy’s Lawyers Request Music Mogul Appear in Court Unshackled

Mar. 15, 2025

Sean “Diddy” Combsis requesting that he appear unshackled in court for his upcoming hearing and “for all future court appearances.”

He then referred to Combs' previous court appearance on Thursday, Oct. 10, where he appeared in leg shackles throughout “without any justification,” he claimed.

Agnifilo argued that having Combs appear in shackles in court raises “paramount concern” of “juror bias” being created.

“Given the press attention on the pretrial proceedings in this case, there is a substantial risk that potential jurors will learn about the shackling through the media and develop such a bias,” he stated.

Combs’ attorney also argued that having his client shackled during court proceedings “interfere[s] with  the  accused’s  ability  to  communicate  with  his  lawyer” and goes against the “respectful treatment of defendants.”

The latest motion filed comes as Combs is due to appear in court on Tuesday, Nov. 19, on racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

“The video is not evidence of a coerced ‘freak off,’ but rather a minutes-long glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1,” Combs’ attorneys claimed in the motion.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His attorneys previously proposed a $50 million bail package.

Combs' trial is scheduled for May 2025.
