Edward James Olmos' health is on the upswing after finishing treatment forthroat cancernearly two years ago.
When asked about his health, Olmos replied, that it was “all good,” adding, “I had a test two days ago and the doctor said, ‘Congratulations, you’re doing very, very well.’ I’m very grateful, but it’s been very difficult.”

“Right now I’m a year and about six months, seven months [into it],” he said. “Yesterday was a very big day when they took the test, the PET scan,” which is an imaging test that shows the function of your tissues and organs, per theMayo Clinic.
TheSelenaactor said that now that his health is in a better place, he is focused on his loved ones.
“I’m just looking forward to spending more time with my family,” Olmos said. “I’ve done that anyway, but that’s what ends up happening. You end up having time for your family, having a good understanding of your life.”

“Once they stopped all of the chemo and all of the radiation and all the treatment is when the body gave up, And that’s when it really became difficult," he shared. “But past that, into 90 days, 100 days past that, I was in much better shape and today I feel very strong.”
Olmos said that he has since adjusted his lifestyle, taking into consideration the way he eats, exercises and sleeps, as well as other “basic fundamentals.” He added, “That’s the key to your life — you are what you eat and you are what you do. So if you don’t do anything, you’re not gonna be around very long.”
