In PEOPLE’s exclusive first look at her upcoming Netflix special,Fortune Feimster: Crushing It, the comedian, 44, hilariously recalls how her mother began feeling left out after she and Smith first began dating.

“Something happened when I met Jax that I did not expect. My mom got a little jealous,” she begins as the audience bursts into laughter. “I remember if I would buy Jax something like a scarf, my mom would be like, ‘I like scarves.’ I’m like, ‘You’re not my girlfriend.'”

To make matters worse, the comedian reveals that her mother’s birthday is just five days after her wife’s. In the month of February, she jokes that she often gets “heart palpitations” over the sheer stress and anxiety.

“I remember, early on in my relationship, it was very popular to go on Facebook and profess your love for whoever you were with. So Jax’s birthday, I go on Facebook [and] I’m like, ‘I love you so much. You’re the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me,'” she recalls as she pretends to barf while typing on a keyboard.

When she received a tepid response, Feimster asked what she was up to on her big day.

“I’m on Facebook,” she recalls her mom quipping. “I was looking at my messages, and I don’t see one from you, and I know your thumbs work because you used them five days ago.”

“I sent you an edible arrangement. What is this?” Feimster laughs before joking, “She was pissed, so I had to unfriend her!”
