The Marauder’s Map has been sold!
The iconic map introduced inHarry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban —the third film in the series — sold for $299,250 atPropstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction. The sale on Thursday, Nov. 14, makes the map the most expensive prop ever sold from theHarry Potterfranchise.
“This auction has been especially meaningful, with David Holmes [Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double] joining us in the room to introduce the incredible Marauder’s Map,” wrote Stephen Lane, founder and CEO of Propstore.

Prior to the auction, Holmes owned the map. A stunt double in all of theHarry Potterfilms, he sustained a severe injury while making 2010’sDeathly Hallows: Part 1,and is now paralyzed, using a wheelchair to get around. Proceeds from the map’s sale will go toward his mobility equipment and personal care.
“I wanted to make something about Dave for years because he’s extraordinary and I wanted to share that with the world,”Radcliffe told PEOPLE at the time.

Other props sold at Thursday’s auction included a Sandtrooper helmet fromStar Wars: A New Hopeand Ray Harryhausen’s Kali Model fromThe Golden Voyage of Sinbad.They sold for $409,500 and $236,250, respectively.
