Disney and Pixar announced at the D23 fan event on Aug. 9 that a thirdIncrediblesmovie is officially in development.
The Incrediblescame out in 2004 and won the Oscar for Best Animated Film. A sequel eventually came in 2018, and that remained Pixar’s highest-grossing filmuntil this summer’sInside Out 2surpassed it at the box office.

Director Brad Bird (who also voices Edna Mode) toldDeadlineback in 2018 about the potential for a third installment, “I would rather say I’m not closed to it, but it’s not on my mind. It’s like, the last thing you want to do after swimming in the ocean for a month is go for a swim. I need to do something else for a while, and we’ll see what the future has in store.”
