The designer tells PEOPLE exclusively that before she ever set foot in Michaelson’s home it was already “very cozy and eclectic,” but she lightened up a few of the rooms that she notes, “were a little dark and slightly dated.” Other elements, like the eye-catching navy shelving in the bedroom and Michaelson’s own white grand piano got the okay to stay.
Grace, who has worked with Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys and Hilary Duff, also layered in some of her custom designs with a vintage aesthetic to give the house a lived-in, approachable feel.

“When it’s too magazine-like . . . it’s hard to imagine snuggling up on the sofa with a warm coffee,” Grace adds. “Especially in the Hollywood Hills, that’s important. You’re nestled high in the trees, I want it to feel organic and warm.”
Overall, she shares, she wanted the space to feel like “somewhere where you would love to lounge and listen to such a talented musician such as Ingrid herself.” And, should the new buyer fall in love with the current decoration, they can purchase all of Grace’s pieces inside along with the house.
