JC Chasez Jokes *NSYNC Bandmate Chris Kirkpatrick Needs 'Knee Cream' and 'Some Aspirin' to Perform

JC Chaseztook a few friendly shots at *NSYNC bandmateChris Kirkpatrick’s age, riffing on how Kirkpatrick, 53, might need some medical assistance to make it through a live performance.

“He’ll probably need some knee cream. Probably need some aspirin,” Chasez, 48, joked with hostsKeltie Knight,Becca TobinandJac Vanekduring an episode ofLadyGangpodcast released on Tuesday, Nov. 26. “We’re different folks these days.”

Kirkpatrick’sPop 2000tour — which features 2000s superstars, likeBrad Fischetti from LFO,O-Town,BBMakandRyan Cabrera— is teaming up with LadyGang’s upcomingLadyWorld retreatin Destin, Fla., the hosts said. In advance of his arrival, they asked if they needed to prepare anything for him.

“What does he need backstage? Does he have a backstage warm up?” the hosts asked Chasez.

That prompted Chasez to wisecrack about Kirkpatrick, who was the oldest member of their boy band and helped put the group together. (Other members of the boy band includeJustin Timberlake, 43,Joey Fatone, 47, andLance Bass, 45.) “He’s very different than what he used to be,” he said.

Chasez — who recently released the musical concept albumPlaying With Fire, a reinterpretation of Mary Shelley’sFrankenstein— also took aim at himself as well, saying, “I don’t perform anymore.”

But if he does take the stage, Chasez joked, “I’m wearing no shirt, and I’m pushing 50.”

But jokes aside, the singer had nothing but love for his longtime bandmate, praising Kirkpatrick’s humor. “He is the funniest human on Earth,” Chasez said.
