Jennifer Lopez Shares Summer Photo Retrospective amid Ben Affleck Split: 'Oh, It Was a Summer'

On Saturday, Aug. 31, the"This Is Me… Now"singer, 55, shared a post onInstagramshowing off photos from her summer, highlighting the time she spent hanging out with her kids and siblings as well as taking some time to relax. The post comes after shefiled for divorcefromBen Affleckon Aug. 20 after two years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.

“Oh, it was a summer,” she wrote in the caption.

Lopez kicked off her photo carousel with a mirror selfie showing her posing with a sultry expression as she sported a black turtleneck sweater, slim-cut black jeans and a slicked-back ponytail hairstyle.

Other photos show Lopez enjoying some summer activities, including eating an ice cream cone, spending time with her sisterLyndaand getting ready to take a bubble bath. She also included a snapshot of her cat and dog soaking up some sunshine and a photo of some cozy pajamas that read “blessed mama” on the top.

Another shot captures one of Lopez’skids— she shares 16-year-oldtwins Max and Emmewith ex-husbandMarc Anthony— smiling at her pet cat. Lopez also posed for a selfie outside as she wore pink-tinted sunglasses and a swimsuit.

Several of the photos also show off theAtlasactress' summer ensembles, including a mirror selfie in her bathroom that features her in full glam makeup and a white swimsuit, as well as a shot of her out at a restaurant wearing a white dress with a dark red ribbon around her waist and a red leather purse and heels to match.

The post also features a photo of a woman wearing a graphic T-shirt printed with the message, “She’s in bloom and unbothered, out of reach and at peace,” as well as a text slide featuring the quote: “Everything is unfolding in divine order.”

“It’s really hit her hard,” a source previously told PEOPLE of Lopez’s reaction to the pair’s split. “She’s veryupset and disappointed with Ben."

Lopez and Afflecktied the knotin Las Vegas on July 17, 2022, nearly two decades after they were previously engaged in the early 2000s before calling it quits shortly before their planned wedding.

On Aug. 22,a source told PEOPLEthat the pairhad good intentionswhen rekindling their romance, stating that Lopez and Affleck “really loved each other — and it happened quickly.”

Another source told PEOPLE earlier this week that Lopez is “doing as well as she can” and“seems relieved” after filingfor divorce, which she did in a courthouse herselfwithout an attorney.

“She didn’t want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out,” the source added.
