Jeremy Renneris officially letting go of his Los Angeles home where he recovered from hislife-threatening snowplow accidentin 2023.

Afterfirst listing the 9,000-square-foot property for $12.9 millionin August, the actor, 53, officially sold the home for $12.4 million on Thursday, Oct. 25, according to property records.

Renner purchased the home for $4 million in 2012 and spent nearly $5.5 million in renovations, according to theWall Street Journal. It is also the home where he raised his 11-year-old daughter,Ava.

“When dad sells your childhood home… paving new paths and making new memories together is always scary, but when the deeply profound love we share is our foundation, we can forge through any place with grace,” he wrote. “My blessing and gratitude to share our home together with family and friends.”

The mid-century modern property is located in the Nichols Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles and features six bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

Renner was originally drawn to the unique architecture of the home and the close-knit neighborhood it was located in, perWSJ.

“You typically don’t get a lot of neighborly love in Los Angeles,” he told the outlet. “This was a wonderful little micro-community.”

Despite the actor designing the property to be his “forever home,” he said it was time to downsize and “focus on his recovery” following the accident.

It was later revealed that the accident occurred while he washelping a family member get a “stuck” vehicleout of the estimated 3 feet of snowfall from the night before.

Though he’saccepted that he’ll be in recoveryfor “the rest of my life,” he told PEOPLE in May, he has also been pushing himself to overcome certain fears likegetting back into the driver’s seat of his snowplow.

While Renner’sprimary home is in Nevada, he liked having his California abode so he could be closer to Ava, who is based there, according toWSJ. The single-story home was perfect for him during his recovery as he didn’t have to go up or down any stairs, he added.
