Jessel Taank’s husband has a sense of humor.
Pavit Randhawa, who has been married to theReal Housewives of New Yorkstarfor eight years, surprised viewers ofWatch What Happens Liveon Halloween when he entered the show’s costume contest.
Fittingly, his outfit was an ode to a jab from one of his wife’s costars.
“He just keeps swimming over to Vietnam, it’s our friend Pavit as the cartoon fish that Sai thinks he resembles,” hostAndy Cohen, 56, said as he introduced Randhawa, who was dressed as Dory fromFinding Nemo.
The costume harkens back to a text messageSai De Silvasent to costarBrynn Whitfieldabout how she thinks Randhawa could be a “lookalike” for the famous fish.
Cohen asked for Randhawa’s reaction to the comment De Silva made, and he replied, “My kids love him so you know what, embrace it,” referring totwins Kai and Rio, whom he shares with Taank.
“You have the best sense of humor that you came dressed in this outfit,” Cohen said, applauding Randhawa for his bold move.
In the season 15 premiere ofRHONY, Whitfield, 36, revealed what De Silva had messaged and the comment sparked a firestorm on social media, prompting videos from both De Silva and Randhawa that fan accountQueens of Bravodocumented.

In a social media video following the episode, De Silva gave “context” to the text message Whitfield shared on-air. “One, I was mad as hell and when I’m mad, I have a horrible mouth, it could be very lethal,” De Silva said.
“I was fighting with Jessel last year. This message was last year. We all know since then me and Jessel have made up and moved on. I sent that message to Jessel in a group chat so everyone saw it, including Jessel, it wasn’t like I was talking behind her back, I was talking to her face,” she concluded. “I have since apologized and me and Jessel are in a really good place. I love Jessel.”
Randhawa used De Silva’s dig to promote his favorite fish dishes in N.Y.C. in his own Instagram video following the epsiode.
This season, Randhawa and Taank, 41, aren’t spending time focused on the comment. Much of their storyline includes whether or not they will expand their family. Last monthTaank told PEOPLE she has some nerves about getting pregnant again.
“I think the conversation is really not easy because I have to go through the motions of IVFs to conceive,” she said, referring to in vitro fertilization, which was how she and Randhawa welcomed their twins.
