Joe Buck Says He’s Not Allowed to Make Marriage Jokes About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce On-Air

Joe Buck says his daughters have forbid him to make any relationship jokes aboutTaylor SwiftandTravis Kelce.

During theMonday Night Footballmatchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints, Buck told his broadcasting partnerTroy Aikmanthat he has learned his lesson when it comes to bringing up marriage regarding the couple.

The exchange came after the Hall of Fame quarterback referred to Swift as Kelce’s “missus.”

“You know they’re not married, right?” Buck passed to Aikman, who then replied: “I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.”

Buck then shared the warning he previously received from his daughters.

“I mean, it happens," the father of four said. “My daughters have warned me multiple times today, ‘Dad, I know you think you’re funny. Don’t make any jokes,' ”

Buck, 55, and Aikman, 57, certainly aren’t the only ones to bring up the topic of marriage as it relates to the couple — or refer to Swift as Kelce’s wife.

CBS Sports analystTony Romohas said on air that the two are married multiple times since the couple began dating.

“As you see, Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, is in the audience,” Romo said while calling the Chiefs-Bills game last season. He quicklycaught his mistake and corrected himself: “Er, I’m sorry. Girlfriend!”

Romo made the same mistake a few weeks later during the Christmas Day matchup between the Chiefs and the Raiders. “And his wife loves it, I mean, girlfriend,” Romo said after Kelce made a winning play.

In February during the lead-up to Super Bowl LVIII, Romo explained his slip-ups.

“I root for them to get married,” Romo said. “‘Cause they’re not married, guys, I was joking.”

Swift has said that she didn’t hold the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback’s mistake against him. On the field after Kelce and the Chiefs locked up the AFC Championship,Swift and Romo were spotted chattingabout their “different” perspectives.

“Well, we’re doing very different things, aren’t we?” Swift, 34, said with a smile, before adding: “It’s a different skill set.”

“Yeah,” Romo responded, and the two gave each other a friendly fist bump.
