Jordan Chiles to Publish Memoir in 2025 Detailing Her Olympic Journey — Featuring a Foreword by Simone Biles (Exclusive)

OlympianJordan Chileswill publish her debut book next year.The gold medalist, 23, announced, exclusively with PEOPLE, that she will publish her new memoirI’m That Girlin spring 2025 through Harper Influence, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.Chiles captured the world’s attention as an Olympic gymnast and member of Team USA after she joined the team in 2013. In her memoir, the athlete opens up about the “psychologically and physically demanding” realities of the sport, including the racism she encountered as a Black athlete in the predominately-White gymnastics field, her experience with “eating issues” in childhood and the lasting bonds she’s formed with her teammates, includingSimone Biles, who wrote the foreword to the memoir.

I’m That Girlwill also share Chiles’ experiences competing at the Olympics, including the moment that she wasstripped of her bronze medalin Paris in 2024. During the Aug. 5 individual floor exercise competition, where Chiles initially finished in fifth place, her coach filed an appeal, citing a scoring error.

Though Chiles called the incident “one of the most challenging moments of my career,”I’m That Girlis ultimately a tribute to the “power of perseverance," per a press release shared with PEOPLE.
