Josh Swickard and Lauren Swickard's Relationship: All About the TV Stars' Romance

Josh has become a household name thanks to his role as Harrison Chase on the long-running soap opera. Beyond the soap world, he’s gained recognition through Netflix films likeRopedandA California Christmas, both costarring his wife.

Lauren gave birth to two children with Josh, and the family of four now lives on a farm outside of Los Angeles.

Here’s everything to know about Josh and Lauren Swickard’s relationship.

The Swickards first met in 2017 on the set of the romantic dramaRoped. In the film, Josh played a rodeo cowboy, while Lauren portrayed the love interest who captures his heart. Their on-screen chemistry quickly translated into a real-life romance.

In a joint interview withMetroin 2020, Lauren shared she met Josh just two days before they began filming, “because he wasn’t actually the first choice for Colton.” She added: “The other person didn’t know how to ride horses so they ended (up) taking Josh, and I’m so thankful about that.”

Josh explained nothing happened during the production of the film, though sparks were flying. “I think we both just felt it is smarter to keep work as work. But obviously we felt that connection so afterward we started to hang out,” he toldMetro.

By the time the film came out, they were married.

They got engaged in December 2018

After a year of dating, Josh proposed to Lauren in December 2018 during a family vacation in Colorado. During a game of charades, alongside their families, he acted out the word “proposal”.

Swickard took to Instagram to announce their engagement at the time. “I have always had a hard time posting about my private life. However I can’t keep this to myself, l just asked this beautiful girl to spend the rest of her life with me,” he captioned thepost. “I love you so much and I can’t wait to grow old with you.”

Their wedding theme was ‘Old Hollywood Glamour’

The Swickards tied the knot on July 6, 2019, in an outdoor ceremony at Hyde Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lauren Swickard toldOver The Moon, “We wanted the day to reflect our lifestyles and personalities so ‘Old Hollywood Glamour’ was a perfect choice!”

They starred together inA California Christmas

In December 2020, Lauren and Josh Swickard brought their on-screen chemistry back forA California Christmas, a Netflix rom-com that Lauren wrote.

It was a longtime dream for her, she said in anInstagram postat the time, adding she’ll “never forget” it.  “Thank you to my husband for sitting with me through quarantine as I wrote this script,” she added.

The film was a hit and one of the platform’s most-watched holiday movies that year. It even got a sequel,A California Christmas: City Lights,the following year.

In 2023, Laurenjoined her husbandon an episode ofGeneral Hospital, playing a doctor. “You’re a star and I love watching you do your thing,” Josh captioned an Instagram post about her feature.

They share two children

The Swickard family grew in 2021 with the birth of their first child, Savannah Kaye Swickard, on April 2.

Two years later, on Feb. 26, 2023, they announced their second pregnancy and welcomed their son, Arthur.

When she gave birth for the first time, Swickard opened up about pregnancy and self-love on social media. “One of my favorite things about my pregnancy has been the new found love I have for my body,” captioned apost.  “Women are created to change, adapt, and survive!”

The couple shares many glimpses of their family life on social media, and they often express admiration for each other’s parenting.

They left Los Angeles for a quieter farm life

In 2023, Josh and Lauren Swickard made a big lifestyle change and traded in the fast pace of Los Angeles for a quieter life — on a farm.

The coupleannounced their move on Instagramat the time, saying, “After a 9 month farmhouse renovation, we are so happy to tell the world…….WE BOUGHT A FARM! We know we have a lot to learn, and so many memories to make."

The couple’s new home includes a small avocado orchard with 410 trees, which they are working to transition to organic. Josh admitted during a November 2023Coastal Entertainmentinterview that he doesn’t “know anything” about running a farm. “I literally saw a video in my head of, like, me working on a farm and I was like, that’s beautiful. Let’s buy a farm.”
