Justin’s vacation comes nearly a month after the highly-anticipated film premiered on Aug. 9. During the promotional tour for the movie, fans began buzzing on social media aboutrumors that there was a rift among its stars.

The film is an adaption of the Colleen Hoover novel of the same name. Amid the reports of behind-the-scenes drama,Baldoni spoke toElleUK about the “friction.”

“There are all these things that happen every day on set, there’s always friction that happens when you make a movie like this," he said. “Then at the end of the day, it’s that friction, I believe, that creates the beautiful art. Everything in life needs friction to grow.”

He added, “We created something so beautiful and so magical, and it was hard, and it was worth it at the same time. And I grew so much as both a filmmaker, an actor and as a person throughout this experience.”

Brandon Sklenar, who plays Atlas, also spoke up in an Instagram post on Aug. 20 to"address all this stuff swirling online."

“Colleen and the women of this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves,” Sklenar wrote. “Vilifying the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and detracts from what this film is about. It is, in fact, the opposite of the point.
