Leaving her co-hosting duties onCatfishwasn’t an easy decision, but Kamie Crawford has no regrets.

The 32-year-oldRelationsh*tpodcast host, whoannounced her departurefromCatfishon Oct. 3 after six years, tells PEOPLE about why leaving was the right decision as she discussesMucinex’s new “No Regrets” campaign.

“We did over 100 episodes in one season. But that’s because that’s how we operate. It would be like, ‘Oh, a set of episodes,’ and then, we would take a break,” she explains. “And then, a set of episodes and take a break. But it was all one season. So it was all pretty much all of season 8, and then, I did a few episodes in season 7 at the end, and then a few episodes at the top of season 9.”

Reflecting on that schedule, Crawford admits that “it was a lot.”

“There’s never been, I don’t think, a show that has operated like that. So it was a lot. It was intense,” she continues. “But I’ve always been somebody who thrives when I have a lot going on. I feel it’s when I don’t have a lot going on that I’m like, ‘What do I do?'”

“I’ve always wanted to be everywhere. I have always had a fear of being put in a box,” she adds. “It’s tough.”

But when she finally concluded that she would not be moving forward withCatfish, which she co-hosted withNev Schulman, she says: “I was definitely scared to make the decision.”

“It has been in my life for six years, and the fans are the best fans in the entire world. They truly, truly are,” she shares. “And even when I made the announcement, they were like, ‘We will follow you wherever you go.’ So that made it worth it.”

Continuing, Crawford adds, “I think that sometimes you just have to do what’s best for you and live life with no regrets and see what else can come your way. I operate with an open hand of just, whatever is for me is going to flow to me, and whatever the next opportunity is, it’s meant to be. Sometimes one chapter has to close for another one to start. So I’m excited.”

The theme of living her life without regrets was what made Crawford’s partnership with Muciniex, a brand she regularly uses to navigate her regular ill moments amid her busy work travel schedule, all the more perfect.

“Even with my podcast, I almost didn’t start it because I was like, there’s so many people who have a podcast,” she admits. “It’s such an oversaturated market, like, who’s going to listen to this podcast? Well, it turns out millions of people listen to it. And so had I not done that, I would have had that regret. So I just don’t believe in regrets. I’m just like, everything happens for a reason. Whatever’s meant to be will be. Pursue it, see what happens so that you don’t have to live with regret.”
