Khalidhas seemingly fired back at his ex Hugo Almonte’s claims in a new video days after he says he was outedbefore coming out as gay.

On Monday, Nov. 25, the R&B singer responded to his social media star ex’s allegations of abuse, pink cocaine use and that he “paid for sex” in a video onX (formerly Twitter).

“this is a long video so bare with me,” Khalid, 26, wrote as a caption over the video.

“I just wanted to come on here and address some things so we can just leave this all in the past. I know I don’t have to. But I feel like it’s important that I speak my side of the situation,” he began.

Khalid’s response comes just days after Almonte toldRolling Stonethat he wanted to “share how [Khalid] tried to use his power to silence me because I simply ended our relationship,” and didn’t intend to out him.

On Friday, Nov. 22, Almonte alleged on X that “one of your favorite gay R&B singers” had given him “pink cocaine” Khalid first denied using “pink cocaine” — a party drug that can cause hallucinations, typically a mix of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and other drugs —  and had accused him of breaking into his house, in an apparent reference to Khalid, perRolling Stone.

“I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I’m not in those surroundings. I smoke weed, and I drink a little bit,” Khalid said.

In the video, Khalid then addressed “escorting” claims that had been made against him.

“I’ve never paid for sex a day in my life. Ever. I’ve never paid anybody to date me. I’ve never paid anybody to be in a relationship with me,” he said.

He also denied publicly accusing anyone of breaking into his home

“I’ve never accused anybody publicly of breaking into my house, and the only people who even know about a breaking are my close circle," Khalid said.

The “Eastside” musician then claimed that his alleged ex is someone he dated “four to five years ago.” “The last time that I talked to this guy was four years ago, y’all,” said Khalid. “This is all random. I don’t know why he did it. I don’t know what’s going on with him. Mental health is real. But I haven’t even had a conversation or seen this dude in four years.”

Khalid added that his ex’s allegations of abuse were particularly “triggering” because “it’s the other way around.”

Almonte has not responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
