King CharlesandQueen Camillastepped out to attend church on the second anniversary ofQueen Elizabeth’s death.

On Sunday, Sept. 8, exactly two years after Elizabethdied at Balmoral Castlein Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at age 96, the royal couple attended a church service in the village of Crathie.

The royals sat next to each other in the backseat as they traveled to the church, where they alsospent time on what would have been Queen Elizabeth’s 98th birthdayearlier this year.

Last year, King Charles similarly spent the first anniversary of his mother’s death in the Scottish Highlands with Camila, where they were spottedattending a service at Crathie Kirk.

Just days after herfinal royal dutyin 2022, Buckingham Palace announced Queen Elizabeth’s death in an official statement that read, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.”

Elizabeth’s death came over a year after her husband of 73 years,Prince Philip, died at age 99 in April 2021.

The King’s most recent church outing on the anniversary of his mother’s death comes as he continuestreatment for cancer.

Buckingham Palace announced that the sovereign was diagnosed with cancer in February and, following a three-month stretch of postponing public-facing duties on doctor’s orders (but continuing to work behind the scenes), the Kingreturned to forward-facing workin April.

While visiting the new Dyson Cancer Center at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, England, on Sept. 3, the royal said that the King “is doing very well,” according toThe Mirror.
