“After our pregnancy loss last year, we decided to start trying in early 2024,” Doute says. “I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help.”

“In late summer, we decided to meet with a fertility specialist to learn about our options and what could be the next step if we decided to go that route. The next month was a whirlwind — getting educated on fertility, and eventually hormone shots and preparing my body for IUI (intrauterine insemination),” she continues.

Doute and Broderick met with Dr. Carolyn Alexander at Southern California Reproductive Center, calling the experience “incredible.”

“She cared with a perfect balance of science and good energy, successfully helping us create our little miracle,” the expectant mom says.

It didn’t take long for Doute to get the exciting news about her pregnancy and says Broderick was “so happy” to hear that their family is growing.

“The two weeks following the IUI procedure felt like years. To get a correct outcome on a pregnancy test, 2 weeks time had to pass and I had to wait it out but in my heart I knew it had worked. I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT result staring back at me.”

“I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous. The second I told Luke, he wasn’t surprised, but was SO happy that IUI worked the first time (we were prepared that it may not). He was joyful and beyond excited, to say the least! Our due date is in June and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!”

The couple’s happy news comes a few months after Broderickpopped the question to Doutewhile the two were in Maui, Hawaii filming the second season ofThe Valley.

TheVanderpump Rulesalum met Broderick at a friend’s wedding where he was a groomsman in June 2022. Opening up about their meeting during the premiere ofThe Valley, Doute said, “I thought he’s sweet, he’s kind, he’s funny and then we had sex behind a tent and the rest is history.”

After their engagement, the couple spoke to PEOPLE about their upcoming nuptials, sharing that they wereputting their fertility journey ahead of wedding planning.

Doute shared that the two had been “really busy” at the time. “I mean, we wrappedThe Valley, been working on our fertility pregnancy journey… relaxing, relaxing as much as possible. But enjoying being engaged,” she told PEOPLE.

Last November, Doute shared on her podcast that she and Broderick had experienced a miscarriage. In April, she spoke with PEOPLE abouthow the experience gave them hope.

“So we’re just back on the train trying and fingers crossed. We’re doing right every month exactly how we should be doing it. So yeah, we’re just hopeful,” said Doute.
