Kristin Cavallari Speaks Out About Ex-Husband Jay Cutler's Arrest on DUI Charge: 'Hope That He Gets the Help That He Needs'

Kristin Cavallarihas broken her silence several days after her ex-husbandJay Cutlerwas arrested.

On the Oct. 22 episode of her podcastLet’s Be Honest, Cavallari, whodivorcedCutler in 2020 afterseven years of marriage, addressed her ex’s Oct. 18 arrest.

“Really quickly, just before we get into the episode, I wanted to hop on here and just let you guys know that this episode was recorded right before a very public incident happened last week with my ex-husband," Cavallari, 37, said at the start of the episode.

She clarified that she “will not be commenting on what happened” with Cutler, 41, who wasarrested on charges of DUI and illegal possession of a gunwhile intoxicated in Tennessee last week.

“I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs. But that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly,” Cavallari said.

He was arrested when police responded to the scene, and he had “bloodshot eyes” and smelled of alcohol, according to a statement police shared with PEOPLE.

After searching Cutler’s car, the arresting officer found a rifle and a loaded handgun, per the affidavit.

He was charged with a DUI, illegally possessing a weapon while intoxicated, implied consent and failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, a spokesperson with the Franklin Police Department told PEOPLE. Cutler released Thursday night on a $5,000 bond.

Since Cutler and Cavallari’s split in 2020, they have both gone on to explore new relationships. Cavallari was most recently linked toMontana Boyz star Mark Estes, who she dated from February untiltheir split in September.

Cutler, meanwhile,has been linked to Samantha Robertsonsince 2023. The pair have never publicly confirmed their relationship, butthey went Instagram officialin September 2023.

Since their 2020 divorce, theLaguna Beachalum has often kept things private between her and her ex, with whom she shares three kids:Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 8.

On a recent episode of her podcast, though, she shared thattheir custody arrangement had changed. Before, they were “doing split custody” and she “had every other week off from my kids,” but that has “changed” as of Oct. 1.
