Matt Barnes' family just got a tiny bit bigger!
The parents shared in the caption that Austin was born on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, weighing 8 lbs., 5 oz, and measured 22 inches long.
“Mommy, Daddy, your brothers and sister love you so much! 🥰, the caption adds.
The post begins with a photo of the newborn, lying down with his eyes closed, swaddled in a blue blanket. In another shot, Barnes and Sims, 45, kiss as Austin rests in his mother’s arms.
This is the second child for the couple afterwelcoming son Ashton Joseph Barnes in 2018.
Barnes is also a father to high school-agedtwin sons Carter and Isaiah, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Gloria Govan. Sims alsohas three children from her marriage to ex-husband David Patterson Jr.

Sims' mother, supermodelBeverly Johnson, commented on the birth announcement, “Oh my dear Austin… The joy you bring to your Mom, Dad, brothers, sister and Grandparents Is truly a gift💙. We love you so very much !!Thank you Jesus🙏🏾💙.”

Barnes, who alongside his fiancée showcased the planning of their wedding on WEtv’sThe Barnes Bunch,played 14 seasons in the NBA, including two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and four with the Los Angeles Clippers. He won a championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2017. Since retiring, he’s launched theAll The Smokepodcast.
One of his proudest accomplishments, however, has been being a father.
When histwins Carter and Isaiah graduated from the 8th grade in May 2023, he penned a sweet tribute to them onInstagram.
“14yrs later & you’re off to high school!! Words can’t express how proud I am of you two. Continue moving w honor, morals, principles & respect as you guys navigate this nxt chapter🙏🏽 Love you two w all my heart @carterbarnes35 @zaybarnes30,” Barnes wrote.
During a previous appearance on theIman Amongst Menpodcast, he opened up about howhis kids have become his ultimate priority since his retirement.

“I had my twins when I was in the league. You know what I mean? So there was so many times that, I just couldn’t make this, this and that. Post-career, they’re my priority, they come before any of my jobs,” he said.
