Bennett, who stars as Danny inHallmark+’s rom-com trilogy,The Groomsmenand co-created and hosts the upcoming reality competition seriesFinding Mr. Christmas,shared with PEOPLE his definition of “sexy” at the PEOPLE + Hallmark’s countdown toSexiest Man Aliveevent on Thursday, Oct. 3.

“I think sexy is just like when you get to that age — I know this is so dumb — but when you get to the age where your friends are like, ‘Hey, we’re going to go to dinner and then go out and do this thing tomorrow. Do you want to go?’ And you’re just like, ‘No, I don’t. I’m tired. I want to stay home and that sounds like a horrible idea,’ " Bennett explained.

He elaborated: “When you get to the point of your life where you just know who you are, that’s sexy.”

In July, the outMean Girlsstar spoke with PEOPLE about the importance of representation during San Diego Comic-Con, notingThe Groomsmenis “the first time we’ve had a gay wedding on Hallmark as the lead storyline.”

“And that’s a huge move for the gay community so they can see themselves represented in these stories,” he added.

According to Hallmark’s official description,the threeGroomsmenmovieswill follow “the lives and romantic relationships of three best friends of different backgrounds, cultures and sexual orientations — Pete (B.J.
