Melissa Gorga Posts Throwback Photos to Celebrate 20-Year Anniversary with Husband Joe: 'We've Made It!'

In honor of the couple’s two-decade anniversary, theReal Housewives of New Jerseystar compiled an Instagram Reel slideshow of photos from throughout their relationship. She set the series of snaps toKenny Rogers' hit “Through the Years” and looked back on their love in her caption.

“[I] feel like I was just a girl when I married you at 25 but boy, I was a pretty smart one,” Melissa began. “The good and the bad, the ups and the downs, having people watch our every move like we’re in a fishbowl. We’ve made it! All while inspiring others and showing them what marriage truly is and what it could really be.”

Referencing their three children together — daughter Antonia, 19, and sons Gino, 16, and Joey, 14 — the reality star wrote, “My dream is that our kids have watched us through the years and are as happy in their marriages❤️ thank you for always loving me.”

Joe echoed his wife’s sentiments in his own post, sharing a roundup offour photos of the duo wearing swimwearwith a shorter — but no less sweet — caption.

“Happy anniversary to the love of my life. I knew from day one❤️ can’t wait to spend the next 20 years with you. I love you,” he wrote in homage to his marriage.

Melissareflected on her strong marriagein a May interview with PEOPLE, and she revealed that “date nights” are the secret to their blissful 20 years together.

“I do give a lot of the credit to Joe on this,” Melissa said a few months ahead of her August anniversary. “He is a preacher when it comes to relationships and how they should be handled. He truly believes in compliments and coming home and really having… We have date nights.”

“We don’t spend a lot of time apart,” Melissa tells PEOPLE. “We spend time apart all day long while we’re at work. I don’t see Joe from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. ever, so our days are apart. When he does come home and I come home… we spend weekends together, we plan trips together.”

Earlier this year, Melissa leaned into her family values to celebrate another special life milestone:her 45th birthday. The mom of four shareda group shot with Joe and their trio of kidson the evening spent in her honor.

“This dinner is all that matters. Happy Birthday to me ❣️,” she captioned her Instagram post.
