Michael Strahan Reveals the Hilarious Grandpa Name He Came Up Following Birth of Daughter Tanita's First Baby

Michael Strahanis coming to terms with hisnew title as a grandpa.

“I went over after I finished up work at Fox yesterday, and I was holding him,” he explained, pretending to cradle Onyx in his arms. “I’m like, ‘I’m going to get you so spoiled and give you back to your parents.'”

He then admitted, “It’s the most amazing feeling, but I don’t feel old enough.”

Strahan shared that the one question “everyone” has been asking is what Onyx is going to call him. “I don’t know!” he exclaimed. “I almost want to do a survey.”

Fallon then chimed in, “Well, like, besides Grandpa, right? Like Papa?”

“Yeah,” Strahan said, “Papa, Gap-pa, like I don’t know.”

Fallon and the crowd burst into laughter at the newly minted grandpa’s name idea. “That’s hilarious, dude,” Fallon said. “But that’s amazing.”

“I’m so happy for my daughter Tanita and her boyfriend,” he said, sweetly adding that Onyx is a “great addition to the family.”

The Los Angeles-based illustrator, 32, is theeldest of four children. He shares Tanita with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins. She was born in Germany, but lived in Houston, Texas, until her parents divorced, after which she moved back to Germany with her mother.
