Model Alex Consani Reveals She Doesn't Wash Her Face: 'Less Is More'

Alex Consanilikes to strip things back when it comes to her skincare routine.

“Okay, okay, here’s the tea, y’all. Here’s the tea. I don’t even wash my face [with a wash or soap],” the model and TikToker, 21, said during a panel at theTeen Vogue Summiton Nov. 23.

Keeping things as simple as possible product-wise is always her goal. “I use Bioderma. It’s like a cleansing oil. I just use that to cleanse my face, I use moisturizer and that’s it," she explained.

Her simplistic steps are quite different from what she’s been seeing online, in particular the complex regimens that teens are doing these days (“You don’t need to be messing with your skin barrier when you’re 15,” she says)  — but she can relate.

Consani recalled a time when she did believe in a “more is more” philosophy, but has since grown into her minimalistic approach now, which she said has been “making my skin better.”

Since stepping onto the scene with both her modeling prowess and hercomedic TikToks, Consani has become quite the style icon on the carpet and the catwalk (shemade historyas one of the first transgender models to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongsideValentina Sampaioon Oct. 15).

And she hopes her milestones can only foster more genuine representation going forward.

“It’s important now to really just have a conversation when it comes to trans women as them being women. I feel like we’re always boxed into a box of being the trans girl or being the diversity hire,” she said on the panel. “At the end of the day, what we need to make change is to see people as people. I know that’s easier said than done, but I think that at the end of the day, when you strip that all back and make it about humanity, that’s really the change.”
